4 things to pack for a summer picnic date

2 years ago, in 2020, one of Arrash & my favorite things to do outside was go on little picnic dates together—by the lake, at the park, at a rose garden, at the beach, & even at home. It was the summer of the Covid pandemic—& it turned out to be our summer of picnic dates! I still love a good picnic.

If you’re planning a picnic date on the go & wondering what to pack, here are 4 things I suggest bringing:

  1.  Games — We love bringing a foldable travel-sized 4-in-a-row game & a deck of cards.
  2. A picnic blanket — This picnic blanket has been our go-to lately. It makes it easy to get comfy wherever we set up.
  3. Snacks & drinks — If you want more of a meal, sandwiches & burritos are both great on-the-go options. We’ve also picked up takeout from restaurants on the way to our picnic spot. Remember to pack wet wipes  & an ice pack in your cooler to keep your drinks (& any perishable food) cold.
  4. Sunscreen — Reapply throughout the day to help avoid sunburn. This Cocokind daily SPF is my go-to for the face. It’s a mineral sunscreen made with zinc oxide. It goes on smooth, feels good, works, & it’s vegan!

To set the vibe, it’s also fun to play music while you picnic—we usually play it on our phone. You could also use a portable speaker if you prefer. We love playing the JOYFETTI Playlist: Summer Picnic, for the perfect laid-back, summer picnic vibe.

Happy picnicking!
